WIP – Workforce Investment Program (Dislocated Workers)
Career Development Facilitation and Job Placement / Training assistance For Laid-Off Workers and Displaced Homemakers.

Target Group

People who have lost their jobs through layoffs, downsizing, plant and business closures.

In addition, we have services for job seekers who have been a full time homemaker for at least three years and were mainly supported by another person who is no longer present.

General Eligibility Requirements

  • Have been laid off or will be laid off within the next six months, are eligible for unemployment insurance and have having difficulty finding comparable employment

  • Have lost your job due to a business closure

  • Are Self-employed and have lost or are in the process of losing your business

  • Were a full-time homemaker for at least three years and mainly supported by a person who is no longer present in the home

  • Commit to a twelve-month follow-up upon successful completion of the program

Dislocated Worker Status
(at least one of the following must apply)

  • Laid off / Terminated (within the last 5 years)
  • Certificate of Separation
  • Out / Going Out of Business (self employed only)
  • Displaced Homemaker (former dependent of other family members’ income while providing unpaid home services)
  • Received Notice of Layoff / Termination
  • Plant Closure / Substantial Layoff

How to apply

  • Come to our office and register for work with our Employee Services Team
  • Conduct and document your intensive job search efforts
  • Complete WIP Adult application available at front desk in Boulder or Longmont
  • Provide documentation supporting information provided on the completed WIP application
  • Return all forms and necessary information to the Boulder or Longmont offices

Documentation Required

Written Proof of General Eligibility Requirements, Work History, Educational Background and Job Search or Barrier Assessment
